Visit of the Delegation of the Hungarian Parliament to the PABSEC International Secretariat, Istanbul, 5 July 2021

On 5 July 2021, the Delegation of the Hungarian Parliament, composed of Mr. Akos Lajos Kohari, Head of the Department of Foreign Affairs of the Hungarian Parliament, and Ms. Krisztina Kello, staff of the Department of Foreign Affairs of the Hungarian Parliament, visited the PABSEC International Secretariat and met with Mr. Asaf Hajiyev, PABSEC Secretary General. The Delegation was accompanied by Ms. Veronika Lakatos, acting Consul General of Hungary in Istanbul, and Ms. Anna Bihari, diplomat of the Consulate General.

Mr. Talat Xhaferi, President of the Assembly of the Republic of North Macedonia, visited the PABSEC International Secretariat in Istanbul on 23 June 2021. The President was accompanied by Members of Parliament Mr. Hysni Ismaili and Mr. Pavle Trojanov as part of the North Macedonian delegation to the Parliamentary Assembly of the South-East European Cooperation Process in (PA SEECP), which is an observer in the PABSEC.

57th Plenary Session of the PABSEC General Assembly, 22 June 2021

The 57th Plenary Session of the PABSEC General Assembly was held online on 22 June 2021. The National Delegations from the parliaments of the Republic of Albania, the Republic of Armenia, the Azerbaijan Republic, Georgia, the Hellenic Republic, the Republic of Moldova, Romania, the Russian Federation, the Turkish Republic and Ukraine took part in the Plenary Session.

PABSEC Participation in the Antalya Diplomacy Forum organized by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Turkey under the patronage of the President of the Republic of Turkey, 18-19 June 2021

Ms. Zinaida Greceanii, PABSEC President, President of the Parliament of the Republic of Moldova, Mr. Cemal Ozturk, Head of the PABSEC Turkish Delegation and Mr. Asaf Hajiyev, PABSEC Secretary General, participated in the Antalya Diplomacy Forum under the theme “Innovative Diplomacy: New Era, New Approaches”, which took place at the Nest Congress Center in Antalya on 18-19 June 2021 under the patronage of the President of the Republic of Turkey.

Working visit of the PABSEC Delegation to the Republic of North Macedonia, Skopje, 8-10 June 2021

The PABSEC Delegation composed of Mr. Cemal Ozturk, Head of the PABSEC Turkish Delegation, and Mr. Asaf Hajiyev, PABSEC Secretary General, paid a working visit to the Republic of North Macedonia on 8-10 June 2021 and had meetings in the Parliament and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the country.

Participation of the PABSEC in the Regional Growth Conference 2021, 3-5 June 2021

The PABSEC Secretary General Mr. Asaf Hajiyev participated in the Regional Growth Conference 2021 organised by the authorities of the Region of Western Greece on 3-5 June 2021. The Region Growth Conference is held already for eight years as a platform for public dialogue. The annual meetings bring together governmental, regional, academic and business representatives with the aim to highlight governance practices and policies promoted by European Institutions that need to be implemented in order to achieve an innovative regional governance model for Greece. The Conference is attended by the representatives of the Greek Government and of other European Regions,

Participation of the PABSEC in the 15th PAM Plenary Session, 3-4 June 2021

Mr. Asaf Hajiyev, PABSEC Secretary General and Mr. Miltiadis Makrygiannis, PABSEC Deputy Secretary General, participated in the 15th Plenary Session of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Mediterranean (PAM) that took place online on 3-4 June 2021. PAM President Mr. Karim Darwish inaugurated the session with a keynote speech, followed by a message by Mr. António Guterres, Secretary General of the United Nations. Over 180 delegates from different countries and international organizations joined the event.
