Meeting of Mr. Asaf Hajiyev, PABSEC Secretary General, with Mr. Mustafa Sentop, Speaker of the GNAT, Istanbul, 17 September 2022
On 17 September 2022, Mr. Asaf Hajiyev, PABSEC Secretary General, met with Mr. Mustafa Sentop, Speaker of the Grand National Assembly of Turkiye (GNAT) at his residence in Istanbul. The Secretary General informed the Speaker of the GNAT about the current preparatory work for the 60th PABSEC General Assembly, which will take place in December 2022 under the PABSEC Serbian Presidency, as well as about the appointments of the personnel of the International Secretariat. The PABSEC Secretary General thanked the Speaker for the permanent interest in the activities of the PABSEC and emphasized the constructive contribution of the GNAT to the activities of the Assembly and the support to the International Secretariat. Mr. A. Hajiyev stressed the importance of the Turkish Presidency of the PABSEC in 2023, when the Assembly celebrates its thirtieth anniversary, and discussed with the Chairman the holding of the PABSEC Anniversary Summit in Istanbul and the events related to the Anniversary, including the Meeting of the Presidents of the Constitutional Courts of the BSEC Member States and the Meeting of the Presidents of the Academies of Sciences of the BSEC Member States. The Speaker of the GNAT thanked the Secretary General for the constructive work and expressed his hope for further fruitful cooperation. The Speaker of the GNAT expressed his full support for the activities of the PABSEC and assured that the Turkish Parliament and the PABSEC Turkish delegation will continue to contribute to the activities of the Assembly.
