Working visit of Mr. Asaf Hajiyev, PABSEC Secretary General, to the Parliament of Georgia, Tbilisi, 26 December 2019.

On December 26, 2019, Mr. Asaf Hajiyev, PABSEC Secretary General, visited the Parliament of Georgia and met with Mr. Archil Talakvadze, PABSEC President, Chairman of the Parliament of Georgia. The Secretary General congratulated the President of the Parliament of Georgia on his election to the high post, as well as on the assumption of the PABSEC Presidency by the Parliament of Georgia and wished success in the further endeavours.

The PABSEC participation in the 9th Plenary Session of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Turkic-speaking Countries, Baku, 18 December 2019

The 9th Plenary Session of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Turkic-speaking Countries (TurkPA) was held in Baku on 18 December 2019, upon the invitation of the Milli Mejlis of the Republic of Azerbaijan. Mr. Asaf Hajiyev, PABSEC Secretary General, presented the PABSEC at this event.

The PABSEC Delegation composed of Mr. Symeon Kedikoglou, PABSEC Vice-President and Head of the PABSEC Hellenic delegation, Mr. Asaf Hajiyev, PABSEC Secretary General, and Mr. Miltiadis Makrygiannis, PABSEC Deputy Secretary General, participated in the 41st Meeting of the Council of Ministers of Foreign Affairs of the BSEC Member States, which took place in Athens, on 13 December 2019.

Mr. Asaf Hajiyev, PABSEC Secretary General and Mr. Miltiadis Makrygiannis, PABSEC Deputy Secretary General, participated to the Conference on “Confidence Building in the Black Sea Region”, which was organized by the International Centre for Black Sea Studies (ICBSS), in cooperation with the Peace Research Institute Frankfurt (PRIF), in Athens, Greece, on 9 December 2019.

Visit of H.E. Mr. Cha Kon Il, Ambassador of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea to Bulgaria, to the PABSEC International Secretariat, Istanbul 28 November 2019

H.E. Mr. Cha Kon Il, Ambassador of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea to Bulgaria, paid a visit to the PABSEC International Secretariat in Istanbul on 28 November 2019 and met with Mr. Asaf Hajiyev, PABSEC Secretary General. Mr. Kim Chol Min, First Secretary in the Embassy of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea in Sofia also participated in the meeting. Mrs. {Pavlina Lozanova, Secretary of the PABSEC Legal and Political Affairs Committee also participated in the Meeting.

The PABSEC Participation in the 50th Plenary Session of the Inter-parliamentary Assembly of the CIS, St. Petersburg, 22 November 2019

The 50th Plenary Session of the Interparliamentary Assembly of the CIS was held in St. Petersburg on 22 November 2019, at the headquarters of the Inter-parliamentary Assembly of Member Nations of the Commonwealth of Independent States - the Tavricheskiy Palace. Mr. Asaf Hajiyev, the PABSEC Secretary General represented the PABSEC in this Meeting.

The Meetings of the Working Group on the PABSEC Rules of Procedure, the Bureau of the Assembly and the Standing Committee were held on the first day of the 54th PABSEC General Assembly on 19 November 2019. The 54th Plenary Session of the PABSEC General Assembly will be held in Sofia on 20-21 November 2019.

On 18 November 2019 Mr. Asaf Hajiyev, the PABSEC Secretary General, while in Sofia on the occasion of the preparation for the 54th PABSEC General Assembly, met with Mrs. Tsveta Karayancheva, PABSEC President, President of the National Assembly of the Republic of Bulgaria. Mr. Petar Kanev, Head of the PABSEC Bulgarian Delegation also participated in the meeting.

The PABSEC Participation in the 18th Summit of Heads of State and Government of the Non-Aligned Movement, Baku, 25-26 October 2019

The 18th Summit of the Heads of State and Government of the Non-Aligned Movement was held in Baku on 25-26 October 2019 upon the invitation of the Republic of Azerbaijan, who assumes the Presidency in this Organization for the next three years (2019-2022). At this event, the PABSEC was represented by Mr. Asaf Hajiyev, PABSEC Secretary General.

The PABSEC Participation in the European Conference of Presidents of Parliament, Strasbourg, 24-25 October 2019

At the Palace of Europe in Strasbourg on 24-25 October 2019 the European Conference of Presidents of Parliament was held, which is organised every two years. The Conference was attended by the presidents of parliaments of the member states of the Council of Europe, partner and observer countries, as well as the presidents of international parliamentary assemblies. At this event, PABSEC was represented by Mr. Asaf Hajiyev, PABSEC Secretary General.
