Visit of Mr. Asaf Hajiyev, PABSEC Secretary General, to Mrs. Tsveta Karayancheva, Speaker of the National Assembly of the Republic of Bulgaria, Sofia, 15 February 2018
Mr. Asaf Hajiyev, PABSEC Secretary General, paid a visit to Mrs. Tsveta Karayancheva, Speaker of the National Assembly of the Republic of Bulgaria, on 15 February 2018, in Sofia. Mr. Petar Kanev, PABSEC Vice-President and Head of the PABSEC Bulgarian Delegation also participated in the meeting. During the meeting, Mr. Hajiyev informed Mrs. Karayancheva about the current and forthcoming activities of the PABSEC and expressed his gratitude for the permanent contribution and active role provided by the Bulgarian delegation to the Assembly’s work. Mrs. Karayancheva stated that Bulgaria attaches great importance to its participation in the most devolved and effective Parliamentary Assembly in the BSEC Region and expressed her readiness for further fruitful cooperation within the PABSEC. She underlined that the Bulgarian Presidency of the Council of the EU represents a great challenge for Bulgaria and informed about the program of its parliamentary dimension. Mrs. Karayancheva expressed gratitude to Mr. Hajiyev for the accepted invitation to be a key-note Speaker of the Inter-Parliamentary Conference for the Common Foreign and Security Policy (CFSP) and the Common Security and Defence Policy (CSDP) which is taking place in Sofia during 15-17 February 2018. Mr. Hajiyev invited Mrs. Karayancheva to attend the Meeting of the Presidents of Parliaments of the PABSEC Member States that will be organised on the occasion of the 25th Anniversary of the Assembly and be held on 15 May 2018, in Istanbul.
