Visit of Mr. Asaf Hajiyev, PABSEC Secretary General and Mr. Fuat Küçükaydın, PABSEC Deputy Secretary General, to Mr. İsmail KAHRAMAN, Speaker of the Grand National Assembly of Turkey, Ankara, 5 February 2018
Mr. Asaf Hajiyev, PABSEC Secretary General and Mr. Fuat Küçükaydın, PABSEC Deputy Secretary General, paid a visit to Mr. İsmail KAHRAMAN, Speaker of the Grand National Assembly of Turkey (GNAT), in Ankara, on 5 February 2018. Mr. Ramazan Can, PABSEC Vice-President and Head of the PABSEC Turkish Delegation and Mr. Cemalettin Tüney, Head of the Foreign Relations and Protocol Department of the GNAT, also participated in the meeting. At the meeting, were discussed the organisational issues of the Conference of the Speakers of the Parliaments of the BSEC Member States. It was decided to organize this event on 15 May 2018, in Istanbul. The PABSEC Secretary General informed Mr. Kahraman about the forthcoming PABSEC Special Standing Committee Meeting which will take palce on 1 March 2018, and about the Second Meeting of the Secretaries General of the Parliaments of the BSEC Member States, with the participation of the Secretaries General of the Inter-Parliamentary Organizations which have Observer Status to the PABSEC, which will be organised in İstanbul on 6 March 2018. The PABSEC Secretary General also provided the latest details concerning the activities to be organised in line with the celebrations of the 25th Anniversary of the PABSEC and informed Mr. Kahraman about the PABSEC Medal of Honor that will be awarded on this special occasion. The Secretary General underlined the consistent support of the GNAT and of the PABSEC Turkish Delegation to the activities of the Assembly and expressed the belief that the Conference of the Speakers of the Parliaments of the BSEC Member States will represent a special event for the 25th Anniversary of the Assembly. During the meeting, Mr. İsmail Kahraman highly appreciated the work of the PABSEC. The Speaker of the GNAT thanked the PABSEC Secretary General for the visit and his warm wishes and assured him that the GNAT will take all the necessary measures to successfully fulfil the PABSEC objectives.
