Mr. Cemal Ozturk, PABSEC Vice-President, Head of the PABSEC Turkish Delegation, and Mr. Asaf Hajiyev, PABSEC Secretary General, attended the 12th Plenary Session of the Parliamentary Assembly of Turkic States (TURKPA), which was organized in Ankara, on 28 April 2023 upon the invitation of the Grand National Assembly of Türkiye. The Assembly was attended by parliamentarians from Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, and Türkiye, as well as by representatives of international organizations. The Plenary Session discussed the topic: “Parliamentary Diplomacy for a More Fair World: Energy, Migration, Food". The Plenary Session also considered the results of the work and further cooperation among the member countries. The Plenary Session adopted the Ankara Declaration. In his speech, Mr. Asaf Hajiyev, PABSEC Secretary General, noted the importance of international parliamentary cooperation and stressed the particular importance of developing the high-tech sector. The PABSEC Secretary General expressed his opinion on the expediency of opening a regional centre for high technologies, which could contribute to the solution of many economic problems and the development of the region as a whole. Mr. Hajiyev spoke about the current work of the PABSEC and informed about the PABSEC Speakers’ Summit and the 61st PABSEC General Assembly, which will be held in Ankara, on 4-5 May 2023.
