On 29 April 2023, Mr. Asaf Hajiyev, PABSEC Secretary General, met Mr. Mustafa Sentop, Speaker of the Grand National Assembly of Türkiye (GNAT), in Istanbul. The Secretary General informed the Speaker of the GNAT about the ongoing preparatory work for the 61st PABSEC General Assembly and the Summit of Speakers of the PABSEC Parliaments, which will be held on 4-5 May 2023 in the framework of the PABSEC Turkish Presidency. The PABSEC Secretary General thanked the Speaker for the permanent attention to the activities of the PABSEC and emphasized the constructive contribution of the GNAT to the activities of the Assembly and the work of the International Secretariat. Mr. A. Hajiyev stressed the importance of the Presidency of the GNAT, during the Thirtieth Anniversary of the Assembly. The Speaker of the GNAT thanked the Secretary General for the constructive work and expressed his hope for further fruitful cooperation. The Speaker of the GNAT expressed full support for the activities of the PABSEC and assured that the Turkish Parliament and the PABSEC Turkish delegation will do their utmost for the successful holding of events in Ankara, under the PABSEC Turkish Presidency.
