Meetings of the Bureau of the Assembly and of the PABSEC Standing Committee, 4 May 2023

The meetings of the Bureau of the Assembly and the Standing Committee were held on 4 May 2023, in Ankara and were chaired by H.E. Prof. Dr. Mustafa Sentop, PABSEC President, Speaker of the Grand National Assembly of Türkiye.

The Sixty-seventh Meeting of the Bureau of the Assembly adopted: Minutes of the Sixty-Sixth Meeting of the Bureau, Draft Agenda of the Sixty-First Meeting of the Standing Committee, Draft Agenda of the Sixty-First Plenary Session, Draft Program of the Sixty-First General Assembly, Matters of Procedure of the Sixty-Session of the PABSEC General Assembly, Progress Report of the Parliamentary Assembly and participation of PABSEC representatives in international gatherings. The Bureau took note of the information on the execution of the Budget of the Assembly.

The Bureau approved the candidacies for the positions of PABSEC Vice-Presidents and for the positions of PABSEC Deputy Secretaries General, for the elections at the Plenary Session.

The Bureau also decided to schedule the elections of the PABSEC Secretary General and Deputy Secretary General for Inter-Parliamentary Relations and Protocol, within the framework of the 62nd PABSEC General Assembly, in November 2023.

The 61st Meeting of the PABSEC Standing Committee approved the minutes of the 60th Meeting, adopted the draft Agenda of the 61st Plenary Session of the General Assembly, approved the Progress Report activities of the Parliamentary Assembly, and also the proposals of the Committees on the issues to be considered in the second half of 2023.

The Standing Committee considered the letter of the President of the Parliamentary Network of the Non-Aligned Movement on getting the Observer status to the PABSEC and unanimously approved the proposal to present this issue at the Plenary Session.

The members of the Standing Committee took note of the information on the participation of the PABSEC representatives in international gatherings, from December 2022 to May 2023. The Standing Committee also took note of the information on the Auditing Report for the 2022 financial year, on the receipt of contributions to the 2023 budget, and on the draft PABSEC Budget for the 2024 financial year.
