In the framework of the PABSEC Monitoring Mission to the European Parliament elections in Sofia the PABSEC Delegation composed of Mr. Ramaz Nikolaishvili, Vice-Chairman of the PABSEC Legal and Political Affairs Committee and member of the PABSEC Georgian Delegation, and Mr. Asaf Hajiyev, PABSEC Secretary General, paid a visit to the National Assembly of the Republic of Bulgaria, on 27 May 2019, and met with Mr. Petar Kanev, PABSEC Vice-President and Head of the PABSEC Bulgarian Delegation. The PABSEC Delegation and the PABSEC Vice-President discussed the current activities of the Assembly and exchanged the information on the PABSEC events in the first half of 2019. At the same time the issue of incoming PABSEC Presidency of National Assembly of the Republic of Bulgaria in the second half of 2019 was considered. The Secretary General informed the PABSEC Vice-President on the organizational and preparatory work for the 53rd General Assembly in Baku on 19-21 June 2019 and reiterated the invitation for the Speaker of the National Assembly of the Republic of Bulgaria to the Baku General Assembly. Mr. Petar Kanev expressed support for the activities of the PABSEC and highly appreciated the work of the PABSEC International Secretariat. He informed the colleagues on the outcome of the European Parliament Elections in Bulgaria on 26 May. He said that Bulgaria attaches great importance to its participation in the PABSEC and expressed readiness for further fruitful cooperation within the Assembly. Mr. Kanev confirmed that the PABSEC Bulgarian Delegation will take part in the 53rd PABSEC General Assembly in Baku on 19-21 June 2019.
