PABSEC Participation in the Parliamentary Meeting “Cross-regional Cooperation in Shaping a Resilient Economic Recovery”, 30 March 2021
Mr. Asaf Hajiyev, PABSEC Secretary General, took part in the online Parliamentary Meeting “Cross-regional Cooperation in Shaping a Resilient Economic Recovery” on 30 March 2021. The Parliamentary Meeting was jointly organized by the Parliamentary Assembly of the Mediterranean (PAM) and the Parliamentary Assembly of Turkic Speaking Countries (TURKPA). The event was attended by the representatives of national parliaments and regional parliamentary assemblies, representatives of international organizations, scientific institutions and political experts. An interesting exchange of views, sharing experience and learned lessons in the field of economic recovery took place. In his speech, Mr. Asaf Hajiyev spoke about major economic projects carried out with the participation of the PABSEC, PAM and TURKPA countries. It was noted that closer cooperation between regional parliamentary assemblies with the participation of experts will mobilize parliamentary contribution to accelerating economic recovery following the pandemic. The PABSEC Secretary General came up with an initiative to organise a joint PABSEC-PAM-TURKPA International Tourism Conference in Istanbul next year. As a continuation of the joint PAM-TURKPA initiative, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Turkey plans to hold a high-level conference on economic recovery in October 2021 in Antalya, Turkey.
