The Fifty-First Meeting of the PABSEC Economic, Commercial, Technological and Environmental Affairs Committee was held in Kyiv, on 26-27 September 2018, upon the invitation of the Parliament of Ukraine (Verkhovna Rada). Mr. Andriy Parubiy, Chairman of the Parliament of Ukraine and Mr. Krasimir Velchev, Chairman of the Committee and Member of the PABSEC Bulgarian Delegation addressed the gathering at the Opening Ceremony. At the Opening Ceremony, Mr. Asaf Hajiyev, PABSEC Secretary General, handed over the PABSEC Medal of Honour to Mr. Andriy Parubiy, Chairman of the Parliament of Ukraine, in recognition and appreciation for his constant and active involvement to the accomplishment of the PABSEC goals and objectives. He informed that Mr. Gramoz Ruci, Speaker of the Parliament of Albania and the former PABSEC President, in June 2018, took the decision to award the PABSEC Medal of Honour to the Chairman of the Parliament of Ukraine. The Meeting was chaired by Mr. Krasimir Velchev, Chairman of the Committee. The national delegations from Armenia, Azerbaijan, Bulgaria, Greece, Romania, Turkey and Ukraine participated in the Meeting. The members of the Committee elected Mr. George-Gabriel Visan for the post of Vice-Chairman of the PABSEC Economic, Commercial, Technological and Environmental Affairs Committee, for the period of a two year-term (September 2018-September 2020). Mr. Vafe Enfiajyan, Vice-Chairman of the Committee and Member of the PABSEC Armenian Delegation, presented the draft Report on “Development and Support of the Small Business Enterprises in the BSEC Member States”. The Chairman of the Committee presented the draft Recommendation 164/2018 on the same subject. The members of the Committee discussed and approved the draft Report and the draft Recommendation 164/2018 on “Development and Support of the Small Business Enterprises in the BSEC Member States”, that will be submitted to the consideration to the Fifty-Second Plenary Session of the Assembly, to be held in Yerevan, during 27-28 November 2018. The Fifty-Second Meeting of the Committee will take place in Moldova, on 3-4 April 2019, and the main item on the Agenda will be “Green Economy. Blue growth”.
